Kysa and Aunt Mindy's Teepee

So, for Memorial Day I popped on over to my parent's place in Roscoe for swimming and cookout festivities. It was a blast! And, in preparation for my friend Jess's shoot for her two year old, I wanted to try to make a teepee. Kysa, one of my lovely nieces, was my test subject and here are some of our results. We literally had about 60 seconds before Mother Nature decided to downpour, but here are a few favorites from that short session.

Laura's Little Ladies

I met Laura a few years back after getting into photography full time. From baby bump to family photos, to girls and girls and girls again! We ended up at our favorite spot - Rock Cut! I think this might be the third or fourth time we've met up there (maybe next time we will finally switch it up?!)

Laura had the awesome idea to play dress up with the girls with her wedding dress, lace rompers, pearls, and last (but certainly not least) LIPSTICK. It was so much fun and I always have a lovely time hanging out with the girls.

Here's some of my favorites from the day!

Olson Family: 1.5 Year Old Twins on the Loose!

I had a great time hanging out with Kelly, Erick, Ivan and Jack and their adorable boxer! We went to Sinnissippi Park in Rockford and spendt a couple hours hanging out (or chasing children, both apply!) at the park! Here's some of my favorites from their session!

My neighbors got engaged. It was the coolest thing ever because they're also very close friends. Evan and Stephanie are always there for me. When I'm gone 15 hours a day working weddings in Madison and Chicago, they're there to let out my dog and make sure he gets plenty of love and attention. They drop what they're doing if I ever need friends. Stephanie and I bore through long cold winters cuddling with Winston and watching movie and movie.

Stephanie kept asking and asking, "Will you do our engagement photos?!" And of course I obliged. We got to play around with lighting and approach our session quite casually since we're close friends and it truly paid off. We used storm clouds and speedlights and guns and abandoned farms outside of Rockford, IL for a few hours.

Here's some of my favorites from the day! Congratulations to Evan and Stephanie on your engagement and I'm excited for your wedding next year! Also. We might have to do this ONE more time. I forgot a couple other ideas I wanted to try out. And who better than some of my close friends! Love ya guys.
